I have heard murmurings that a diesel engine is the way to go. BTW thought you might be interested in a recent acquisition. A DVD of seasons 1&2 of Ren & Stimpy in all their uncut glory. It's magnificent.

(How the hell did I remember that?) Nice choice of car by the way, I only have one question -- how hard does it go? Reviewers always point out the small diesels takes forever break even in Australia compared to small petrols, but they never mention whether it goes harder. I'd pay the premium for a diesel if it's faster than an equivalent petrol model....

Very. 1.9 remember, they use that engine in the Golf also and this weighs less. When test driving, we drove by ear (no tacho in the Mirage - they're for wimps anyway), and I found myself at 75 in second when I would have been at 50 in the Mirage. Oh it goes all right. The torque just hammers. Sure it's no HSV, but it uses 1/3 the fuel or less so that's not a valid comparison really. |
