Nice. Though my advice to you is to fill it with RAM -- I have 1Gb in my MBP and it's barely enough. Also, you might want to consider using Flexirent for tax purposes -- I did that with my old 12in PB and I managed to save a few bucks even with the massive premium they put on the finance (since you can claim 100% of your payments as a tax exemption). Not sure how it compares to writing it off on tax though, but worth having a look.
It's (near enough to) 100% work usage so gets totally written off quite simply. I don't mind over two years but a guy I used to work with's accountant was happy to write one laptop off per year completely. That's a nice upgrade cycle...
And Flexirent = another debt (of sorts). I'd rather just have the one big one since we can't avoid that in any manner. We did the same for the car - pay cash and be done with it, or worst case we could have extended the home loan. Yep, 2GB is coming in mine, it was only $270 or something above the 1GB which is crazy cheap, considering they swap 2x512 for 2x1gb modules, and the extortionate prices Apple used to charge for RAM. |
